Desiree, baby-sitter : Flanders

Working as a nanny for 7+ years has introduced me to the wonderful world of learning with children. I have worked with a diverse group ranging between the ages of 1-12 from all different backgrounds and walks of life. I have consistently tutored in math, English, language arts and history. I have taught not only academic studies but cooking, crafts and life skills as well. I have studied family dynamics, child psychology and the art of communication and emotional intelligence. I closely follow the Love and Logic platform which, in my experience, provides healthy habits for ultimate growth and connection between parents, their children and their caretaker. I am patient, assertive, flexible and value fostering independence with children. My passion is creating art (playing music, drawing, dancing, painting, poetry etc) and this is often involved with my care taking. My top priorities are being safe, healthy and happy! Working with young, new minds is a beautiful privilege that has changed me in amazing ways.
