Adriana, babysitter - 1620 Drogenbos

I'm a 22-years-old Portuguese student, I've just graduated in International Relations and I came to Brussels to work on the refugees crisis. Meanwhile I started a Master on Anthropology at ULB, to after specialize in Human Rights and I had the idea of doing babysitting in Brussels while I'm volunteering and studying, because I think it's a good way to get to know a different country, to improve the local language and to get in the culture of the family.

I've been working with children as a baby-sitter in my hometown, I used to teach Math and English to kids from 8 to 14 and I worked as a volunteer teacher with people from 9 to 20 giving classes on different subjects, in an impoverished neighborhood.

The things that I love most are reading, writing and travelling. I started travelling as a kid with my parents, then I grew up and started to visit different countries by myself, I made some EU youth exchanges and I lived one year, 2014, in Bologna, Italy, as an Erasmus student.

I am a trustable and responsible person, I am friendly and polite and, mainly, I can say that I love people, I enjoy to meet different people, countries, cultures and languages. I’m interested in Social Issues, Environmental problems and Human Rights.

I believe that is very important getting children in contact with culture and art from an early age because like that they'll grow up as sensitive and critical citizens of the world, with the cosmopolitism, the knowledge and the creativity to change it and leave a positive "footprint" on the planet.
